Tonight for NR Night in America Race 1 at Darlington Raceway, Marty Cmejla will wheel the virtual #39 Modnar Videos Next Gen Toyota Camry. This paint scheme is a tribute to his #39 Digital K Chevrolet Camaro, which he ran back in July of 2022 for his first ever NR Night in America start. This was on the XFINITY Camaro at the 2022 configuration of Atlanta. He finished 21st after spending most of the race in the Top 5.
"It's always been something I've wanted to do. Ever since Modnar Videos became a partner of MC Motorsports, I knew this throwback was in the mix with the pink colors," Cmejla said. So, with Throwback Weekend coming up for NASCAR and NR Night in America racing at Darlington tonight, Cmejla made the remade the scheme on the Next Gen Camry. The scheme was originally made by MC Motorsports driver Patrick Connell.
Cmejla is running a tribute to his first start paint scheme.
Cmejla has had moderate success at Darlington. It has treated him well and bad in 6 NR starts here. He's finished 14th, 6th, 10th, 8th, 19th, and most recently, 8th. The 19th finish was the only race he ran the Bel Air Fear Haunted House car in. It was a tough effort. Exiting Turn 4, he got stuck to the wall (you know how it is with the Gen 4) and when he got off, he launched into Frank DeAngelis. They both wrecked. Frank DeAngelis then, in front of the leaders, turned Cmejla and Cmejla flew into the air.
The 10th place he earned should have been a Top 5, but Cmejla was battling for 5th on the last lap and right reared the car in front exiting 2. Moral of the story, Darlington has been interesting Cmejla. He's done 2 Next Gen races here, and that is where his best finish of 6th came. The other he was on pace for a Top 5 but got wrecked by River Page.
Cmejla hopes to make merchandise for this paint scheme in the coming days.
