April 28th, 2023 | 9:18 AM CT
MC Motorsports will compete in NR Night in America tonight, April 28th, 2023. The team plans to field 18 cars across 5 races, which will accumulate for about 9% of the entire NR Night. Tonight, NR Night in America will race a wide range of cars, like the NASCAR Cup Series Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1s, the NASCAR XFINITY Chevrolet Camaros, the NASCAR Truck Chevrolet Silverados, the NASCAR Cup Chevrolet Impala COT’s, and the Late Model Stocks. They will also go to a wide range of tracks, including the Monza Grand Prix circuit for the first time ever. They will also go to Talladega with the Xfinity cars for the first time in a long time. All MC Motorsports drivers except Bradley Cmejla will race in events tonight. The tracks are still TBD for Rounds 3, 4, and 5 with Trucks, COTs, and Late Model Stocks. We plan to have 3 drivers in Round 1, 5 drivers in Round 2, 4 drivers in Round 3, 3 drivers in Round 4, and 3 drivers in Round 5.
The first race tonight will be at Autodromo Nazionale Monza for the first time ever, with the road course layout. It is still TBD on what track layout will be used. Team owner Marty Cmejla hopes for the eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series layout version with no chicanes. It would provide good drafting. Connor Murphy, Marty Cmejla, and Justin Connor will race in this one. Connor Murphy plans to drive the #30 Connor Murphy Designs Chevrolet. It will be his first road course race in NR Night history. Marty Cmejla will be back in the Inside the Industry #39 Chevrolet. It will be his 10th Road Course race. Cmejla’s best Road Course finish is 8th at Daytona Road Course with Next Gens. Cmejla is looking forward to this race. Justin Connor will drive Q90 FM Christian Radio cars all night. Q90 finished up with their Q-Drive yesterday, which raised $160,000 in the end. It will be Justin’s 2nd NR Night Road Course race. He finished 11th at Watkins Glen with Xfinity cars for his first road course race. MC Motorsports’ average results have been going down as a whole recently, so Cmejla hopes for strong results in all 5 races tonight.

The 2nd race will be Xfinity cars at Talladega. It will be a first for MC Motorsports with this car-track-combo. The fun thing about this combo is that it’s Cmejla’s first ever fully watched NR Night in America car-track-combo from a stream back in 2021. There will be 5 MC Motorsports cars in this race. It will be the first time ever MC Motorsports would have 5 cars in a race, beating the previous record of 4 from Charlotte in March.
Connor Murphy will drive the #30 Connor Murphy Designs Chevrolet. Connor’s best finish at a Superspeedway is 17th back at Daytona - 2008. He has 3 Superspeedway starts, with a 17th, 19th, and a 22nd. Not the greatest average. It will be his first Talladega start so maybe he can turn this around. He ran up front in the recent one at Gen 6 Daytona. Marty Cmejla will drive the #39 Nirto Graphics Chevrolet for this race. It will be his first Xfinity Talladega start. Cmejla has 2 podiums at Talladega with a 2nd and 3rd. He’s coming off of a very interesting night on April 25th. Levi Lipe will drive the #40 Q90 FM Christian Radio Patriotic Chevrolet for his 2nd ever Talladega race. He finished 19th with the 1987 cars for his first one. Levi Lipe got his first Top 10 at the recent Superspeedway race at Daytona with an 8th place finish, best for the team in that race. Jacob Quill returns coming off of a career night on April 21st. He will drive the #59 Inside the Industry Chevrolet for his 2nd Talladega start. He got his first Top-10 of 8th last time he was at Talladega. Justin Connor will drive the #65 Q90 FM Christian Radio Chevrolet for his 2nd Talladega race, coming off of an 11th. With 5 cars in a race like this, it’s pretty much certain someone will have some definite issues.
Round 3 will be with the Trucks at an unknown track. We plan to have Connor Murphy, Marty Cmejla, Levi Lipe, and Justin Connor. But, if certain drivers don’t have the track, you probably won’t see them race. It will be the first truck race for Levi Lipe and Justin Connor.
Round 4 will be with the COTs at an unknown track. We plan to have Marty Cmejla, Jacob Quill, and Justin Connor racing. If certain drivers don’t have a track, they won’t be able to race. It will be the first COT race for Jacob Quill and Justin Connor.
Round 5 will be Late Model Stocks. Marty Cmejla, Jacob Quill, and Justin Connor all plan on racing, but again if the track is a paid track that nobody has, we won't race. Marty Cmejla averages a finish of 6.5 in 4 starts. He’s never finished outside of the Top 10 with Late Model Stocks. Jacob Quill got his 2nd career Top 10 in the recent Late Model Stock race at Lanier with an 8th place finish. Justin Connor plans to make his Late Model Stock debut. This race will only happen if the stream hits 400 likes..
Marty Cmejla says that this night has the schedule makings of a solid one. Out of Connor Murphy he wants to see just a good result. Connor’s recent 8 results are all outside of the Top 15. He has only 2 career Top 15 finishes, so Cmejla is hoping he can improve! For himself, he is coming off of one of his weirdest nights. Two podiums in a row and then a 6th place finish in Round 6, but he broke his Top 20 streak at 59 after a 26th-place finish at Richmond after Nathan Lyons dumped him, and then he retaliated. He then got a 21st at Lanier - Dirt after he got loose and spun into Dominic Barbagallo. Then Frank DeAngelis sent Thurston and took Cmejla with him. He also had an 18th in Round 1. It is crazy because in each race he had a good finish, each race had a moment that could have resulted in more outside Top 20 finishes:
In Round 2 at Atlanta, Cmejla started 37th which put him right in the back. On the backstretch on the first lap there was a big wreck in the back. Cmejla had a spinning car right in front, so he turned right and locked the brakes up. His brake bias was so low it spun him into Levi Lipe. Levi Lipe would spin. Cmejla had 12 seconds worth of optional repairs. He didn’t fully even spin, it was more of a half spin. He avoided the spinning car. His monitor blacked out on Lap 15 and he was lucky to survive that. Then around Lap 40 there was a big wreck up front. Cmejla saw it many seconds in advance but ARCA brakes it after choosing to go low into the wreck. The low brake bias once again caused him to spin into Ethan Stanley. The car hit Stanley hard. He got a lot of air. But somehow, the car had 0 damage from it, cosmetically and engine-wise. Then he was battling Abraham Vela and he gave Vela plenty of room but Vela tried to turn him. Cmejla pulled off an incredible save as he was about to get left-hooked into the wall. All this and he still got 3rd. At Chicagoland, there were many wrecks during the race and Cmejla had to avoid them. He got caught up in the first lap crash where he got netcoded into Mosteller’s front end. Cmejla would spin in the grass and had a lot of rear damage. At Eldora, there was a big crash on the first restart and Cmejla barely got through it.
Next up is Levi Lipe. Levi has been struggling a little with results. He has 4 career starts. He’s gotten 19th, 27th, 8th, and 24th. If it was not for the 8th, the results would continue to be rough. Cmejla hopes to just see a consistent solid night for him. Then, Jacob Quill. Quill comes off of a night of a 3rd and 6th place finish at Indianapolis and USA - Dirt. Quill will race in 3 of the 5 races tonight as of now. He is hoping to continue the momentum. Last is Justin Connor. Justin has also gotten a lot of rough results recently, but most of them have been because of bad luck.
MC Motorsports will have the most cars in races tonight in team history with a planned 18. Hopefully the night will go well for us!
