Current team NR Night in America driver Patrick Connell has signed with MC Motorsports to join their ASPHALT MEDIA team through the entire duration of 2024. With this signing, Patrick Connell becomes the 2nd driver signed to MCM's ASPHALT team, behind Emma Akin, that doesn't have the last name of Cmejla.
Patrick Connell and Marty Cmejla have been friends since 1st grade. One of the reasons Connell got into NASCAR was because of Marty Cmejla. This sparked his interest in iRacing after watching Cmejla race iRacing races. Connell in November of 2023 would join MC Motorsports for NR Night in America. So far he has a best finish of 16th with MC Motorsports in NR Night in America, in 5 starts.
Connell decided to select the #46 to be his number, keeping consistency with his image. He will drive the iconic MC Motorsports ASPHALT MEDIA Black base schemes.

"We looked at Patrick Connell's ASPHALT MEDIA success and we find that he has lots of great results in ASPHALT that would be great to add to our team. Connell has wanted to join MC Motorsports on the ASPHALT MEDIA side for a long time," Cmejla said.
Cmejla has finalized the teams plans for 2024 with this signing. The NR Night in America team will have the #39 of Marty Cmejla, the #46 of Patrick Connell, the #83 of Brad Cmejla, and an All-Star car, for part-time team signings like Daniel Mosteller and Max Swarringin. It was also announced that Connell had been granted a contract extension on the NR Night in America side. His current contract expires January 1st, 2024, but now Connell is signed through the full duration 2024.
The ASPHALT MEDIA team will have the #46 of Patrick Connell, the #83 of Brad Cmejla, the #88 of Marty Cmejla, and the #94 of Emma Akin.
