Ray Connell changes iRacing name to Patrick Connell

Ray Connell has changed his iRacing name to Patrick Connell as of November 30th, 2023. Initially, Patrick wanted to be called Ray because he thought Ray Connell sounded cooler. Ray is his middle name. He took this inspiration from Denny Hamlin, NASCAR Cup Series driver, whose full name is "James Dennis Alan Hamlin" with his middle name being Dennis, thus becoming "Denny Hamlin".

But, recently, Patrick has found nobody really knows who "Ray Connell" is. Everyone recognizes the name Patrick Connell from the Discord chats, and people just generally refer to him as Patrick. This is the main reason for the name change.

On the 29th of November, 1 day after Marty Cmejla's first NR Night in America win, Connell emailed iRacing Support that he wanted to change the name. It would be a day later where they responded, and the name change was a success.

All instances of "Ray Connell" on our website have been changed to Patrick Connell.
